Study abroad trips scheduled for next year include the Big Apple, City of Light
Would you rather see the Eiffel Tower or the Statue of Liberty? Both are possibilities as the Global Studies program at Southeast Community College scheduled both those study abroad trips for next spring.
The trip to Paris, “Taste of France,” is May 15-23, 2023, and costs $3,391 for travelers under age 23, or $4,431 for adults 23 and older. It includes roundtrip airfare, seven overnight stays, daily breakfast and dinners, a professional tour director, and visits to numerous attractions. Registration deadline is Sept. 28, 2022.
The New York City trip, “Isle of Manhattan,” is $2,226 for all ages and is scheduled for May 10-13, 2023. It includes roundtrip airfare, three overnight stays, a hotel in Manhattan, daily breakfast, guided sightseeing tours, and a subway package. Registration deadline is Oct. 31, 2022.
"Travel as a student often impacts the trajectory of education, broadening perspectives and opening them up to a whole new world of possibilities,” said Nicole Trevena-Flores, Global Education coordinator.
Students and the general public can register for the trip but are expected to enroll in GLST 2980, which is a Global Studies class where students learn more about the particular area in which they travel.
A Global Education Scholarship Fundraiser will be held at Course Restaurant on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 4:30-7 p.m. For more details on any of the trips or the fundraiser, contact Trevena-Flores at ntrevena@southeast.edu or 402-437-2886.
